Toned 2018 lincoln cent only rev.

20210218_103405.jpg 20210218_103348_HDR.jpg So i been searching rolled coins i picked up from the bank as i do every week when i cash my check .....let me start with .i am a machinist/welder of over 20 years now so i have a pretty vast knowledge of metals and effects of heat causing colors to appear which i do not feel is the case here my conclusion comes from the fact that the obverse is totally 100% normal which i cant see being possible if this was caused by heat there may be some sort of trick causing this i have read lots of articles about people doing things to make cent look silver but nothing about this please let me know if anyone knows what could cause this also the entire edge of the coin is normal (not discolored) thanks for the help

    These are great photographs!

There are many things that can cause toning including heat as you mentioned. In this case, the toning appears to either be chemical or it was left in the sunlight. You normally see this sort of thing when a coin is rolled and this is the outermost coin in the roll.
