CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

Penny errors 1979D & 1955S

    Penny errors 1979D & 1955S

    Has anyone seen anything like this 1979D penny? Looks like a multiple strike.
    I think the 1955S is a double die or double stamp, you can see it in the mint mark and on left side edge.
    I just want to know if these look like something I should have graded.
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    The first coin is post mint damage. Someone hit it with a hollow tube or something similar. The 1955S photos are pretty blurry, but based on you description, it sounds like MD.

        Agreed, the first is PMD, the second looks normal from the photos I am seeing. Please try and keep threads to one coin only in the future.
