CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1962D-lincoln cent-DDO?

    What error is it when lincoln cent has doubling in profile? Besides this one I have a penny that has at least 5 layers of eyes,nose ,mouth etc.

    Multiple layers like you describe are usually just MD. However, there some doubling on profiles of some cents that is the result of reduction lathe doubling. This happens mostly on the forehead and slightly on the nose. You can do a search on 'reduction lathe doubling' to see how it was made if yo are unfamiliar with it.

      From the photos I am thinking it is machine doubling. I cannot rule out some design/lather doubling - it is not a doubled die.
