CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

2009 nmm balding lincoln

    Is this something thats listed or if not is it anything worth mentioning i have a few of the same lincoln cent from 2009 thay are nmm there are some with normal hair and some with a patch of hair completely missing which is flat amd smooth as the fields of the obverse of the coin...or is this what is often refered to as floating hair?

    Never heard of 'floating hair' but your coin suffers from being struck through grease. Some small amounts of machine grease became embedded in the lower recesses of the die. When struck, it prevents the full design from being struck into the coin.

      It could also be an over abraded die. I recall a few 2009 Lincolns being like this. Either way it is a minor error
