  • Few 1969-S Pennies - Input/Opinions

    Hello,
I'm new to the community, forums and collecting.

I recently aquired a roll of 1969-S pennies from a Police auction and would like some input on a few of them that looked interesting to me(keep in mind that I'm very new to coin collecting all together).

    Please see attached photos.

Is this "machine doubling" that I'm seeing and is it worth keeping for collection or is it very common?

Also found one that says "LIBFRTY"
Is this just caused by grease or is this something else?

    Thank you for looking,
    -Mike

Hi Mike. Great looking phots there. All of your coins do have MD (machine doubling) on them. This is very common for 1969 coins. The other coin you mention has a hit on the E of LIBERTY.
None of these coins carry a significant premium as they are so common. However, 1969 has some really strong examples of MD that some people like to collect.
