CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Documantation/ storage options?

Anybody willing to upload a photo showing their preferred storage or display methods? I'm starting to accumulate some error coins and would like to follow your world class method of documenting the date, mint, defect description, CONECA ID #, ... ?

There are so many options out there Ron. As far as actual storage, flips, 2 x 2s, albums, binders, etc. or any other methods that work for you is recommended. Documentation is another area you should think carefully about. If you know how to make and use spreadsheets, that is an easy way to start. 'World Class' is definitely subjective. I wouldn't call what I have world class, but would call it adequate for what I have. As the collections get larger, you need to find some way to be able to maintain it. I know few people who have the same storage and documentation systems in place.

Mine is no where near world class. I keep mine in binders in 2X2s (20 slots per page). If you go this route try to find heavy 2X2 pages. I have some of a light weight and some with heavy weight material. The 2X2s in the light weight pages tend to slide out too easily.
