  • DAMAGE OR SOMETHING ELSE

While killing time I was looking through a group of 1979 SBA's and came across this 1979 S. At first I just wrote it off as damage then started looking closer until I noticed that the damage was just limited to the S with no damage to the surrounding area. It looks like the s may be filled in and like it is surrounded or inclused in a box. The more I looked the loonier I got and just thought I would throw it out there.

I do see it in your photos. In my opinion, it still looks like damage. It appears that something may have scraped the very top of the letter. It is also possible that it was damaged during ejection.
