  • 1968 s proof ddo

I want to note that I have been an amateur coin collector for the past 55 years. I was never interested in error coins until recently. Thinking that I had to be very lucky to find an error I started checking my coin collections particularly the Washington Quarter collection. I at once noticed several proof coins and figured what better place to start. Upon checking a 1968 s proof coin I found ddo in "In God We Trust". The dd was most notable in the S T of trust but further investigation revealed the the doubling was throughout the logo. I also want to note that this was the second coin I checked this day.

Unfortunately, this appears to be machine doubling (MD) The doubling looks similar but yours has no notching and the doubling is flat and shelf like versus rounded.
