  • 1963 Jefferson Nickel PR

Here's another coin/ pawnshop $1 find. A 1963 proof nickel still in the sealed cellophane packet. You can see the reflection of a toothpick in the last pic. I believe this is a V.V. , DDR. I found one in Vista so far.

What is a V.V. DDR? Do you have a number?

Mustbebob, Variety Vista. LOL. I'm still exploring the DDR varieties. Proofs in my microscope are hard to pinpoint die markers because of light washout. Jason told me to try tracing paper over LEDs to but haven't figured out how I could do that. I'll let you know if I nail it down.

I feel your pain as far as trying to diffuse the lighting. My perfect diffuser ended up being a white coin tube. Just play with things until you find something that works. You will be absolutely amazed at what cutting out the glare can do for your searches.

Mustbebob, Thanks for that coin roll tip. Never would have thought of that.
