CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    It has nice toning! Could the color come from improper annealing?

    WOW! Beautiful coin! I would super-highly recommend getting that coin graded it the toning is natural. There is no doubt that your coin is a DDO.

      I agree that the color is most likely just natural toning. People should always be willing to get a coin that is frequently counterfeited authenticated. This coin is beautiful for sure.

        I have a seen a few of these DDO-001s with nice toning like yours. I wouldn't call it an annealing error, just nice toning.

        And do have the coin double checked as fakes exist
