  • "Kennedy Half Dollar" 1968 D on copper planchet?

Can it be so that this "Kennedy Half Dollar" 1968 D was minted on copper planchet?
I attached photos of the edges of this coin and the coin which I have no doubts. The edge of this coin is more reddish. It looks like copper color to me.
Weight of this coin is 11.38 g, when standard weight is 11.50
    Diameter is 30.60 mm.

This is a normal coin. The composition for 1968 coins was 60% copper and 40% silver. The outer layers are 80% silver and 20% copper which is bonded to an inner core of 20.9% silver and 79.1% copper. The weight is within tolerance and as long as there was copper in the composition, it could be visible on the edge.
