CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 2015 US Qtr

This qtr $ appears to have a date of 2045 in its natural state but if it is blown up only scratch marks and a depression appear and the date anomaly is not obvious in that state. I tried to upload the blown up photo but the file size exceeded 2mb. I dont know if the scratche mark locations are a freak of nature or die scratches. I would appreciate finding out more as I am not able to discern anything further. I am a new member so please accept my apologies for any errors in posting on the forum.

That is simply a hit to the coin. Most likely from circulation.

That is true. I doubt very much that there is another just like that one.
