CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Attribution service questions...

Is the attribution service presently in operation? If so, how long is the wait time for acceptance into the service?

I have read a few messages that leads me to think the attribution service is on hiatus.

As far as I know, it is still in the works-maybe because they are focusing on getting the master listing website up? Bob should know more...

It is indeed still being worked. Our lead attributer (J Cuve) will make an announcement when we are ready to start accepting coins for attributions. In addition, we need to identify our attributers for each denomination.

I am assuming then the same goes for coins submitted to the examination service as well?

I assume it does. I have no information concerning those services right now.
