CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1945-P VV RPM-001 DDR-004

1945-P Jefferson Nickel. I Have located this coin on Variety Vista as RPM-001, DDR-004. The example that is pictured on there is LDS. I am wondering what Die State my example is? I do have many more photos of the reverse although it will only allow me to upload 8 photos for the post? Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much!

I apologize, I meant to ask what the die stage is?

You have the coin in hand, and that is really the only way to determine which die stage. Since VV only lists Stage C, then there is nothing to compare your coin to. Since the devices are pretty sharp, it is an earlier die state, so if I were to take a guess, it would be Stage A or B.

I personally do not identify any of the varieties I have by die stage. That is my personal preference though.

          Wow, very nice example.

I love the doubling and the RPM on this one-it shows clearly.
