  • How to tell when it is Machine Doubling or Mechanical / Strike Doubling

OK ! I finally created a post to help all the people who may be having a slight issue with trying to identify machine doubling, mechanical or strike doubling. It is a very basic post, but it gives good details.

    https://minterrors.org/what-is-machi...anical-damage/

Feel free to read all about it and leave your comments here on the CONECA forum.

You can bet when I see the mechanical doubling, strike or mechanical damage, that post will be included in the reply.

    I hope it helps !

Here's a tutorial I made years ago on all the kinds of doubling that are not hub related. This is a cent- centric post, and some of the photos are now gone due to hosting sites dying. But I'm sure I have backup photos somewhere. http://www.lincolncentforum.com/the-...resource-page/

There are many updates I'd love to make on that page, but Peter won't allow me access to do that, so it just sits there and rots. Beats me why.

            Will,

I own my own server and I am happy that I do. The websites I own and manage them on cost less than what most people would pay for a circulated 09 S vdb. I like to educate people on coins in general, so it's a win win situation most days.

If he ran a version of WordPress he would be able to offer you authoring rights to post. Some web admins might not like to do that, or simply cannot if they are appointed and need to follow a strict rule set.

my thought process for the machine doubling has always been show them the easier things to grasp first and then over time, let them learn a bit more later on. It's an educational roller coaster when one is into collectibles as there are a lot of things to cconsider.

As far as an update to your post when it is locked down like that, you may be able to copy out the entire article without any extra stuff, use MS Word. Make changes to the article and send him a copy.
He may be able to copy and paste that changed article without much issues.

Machine doubling was one of the articles I wanted to do for quite some time. There are others that will follow, in due time.

It is on wordpress, and I did have authoring rights, which is how I created it.

I am just a state rep, I don't have any officer-like powers. Maybe Bob P. or some other appointed individual can help.

If the post is on the other site, how would Peter on this website affect your post over there?
Is he a web master over there as well?
I guess I am not tracking the connection between Peter and the post on another website is all.

Because Peter owns the other and its been neglected and near impossible to get anything done. Im sure hes busy and has priorities but the the other well respected site isn’t one of them

I understand, but honestly, complaining on this post, isn't going to solve the issue. I have no control over what he does, or how he does it. My best suggestion is to reach out to him and ask him point blank what is up. There ARE avenues for posting your own topics in many different avenues. The PROBLEM with that is, you're buried under many similar posts. With the right package, that is easy to over come.

To be quite up front and honest, I did contact the webmaster here one time, and I DID receive a response shortly afterward. Call it pure luck or whatever, but it is what it is.

I wish you all the best in whatever route(s) you all take.

Peter is the web master here, and also takes care of LCR. His forum name is 'Peter'. Must have worked a long time to come up with that name :-)

You can contact him directly at any time with questions concerning these or other issues and he will reply. He's getting old though, so you better hurry.

Sorry, Gary. I wasn't looking for any help from you on the matter. I was basically bitching to my dog, which has the same result. Apologies for soiling your thread.
