CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Where is the possible DD? The S of TRUST in the motto appears to suffer from circulation damage or die deterioration.

      Yes, that "S" in trust is not a normal font. You can actually see part of the good "S" under that damaged, odd looking "S". The word TRUST may be a little thicker than normal, but unless You see some separation, its tough to call it "extra thickness".

      In my opinion, its suffering from post mint damage. It would be awful hard to prove its a DDO, unless there is some jaw-dropping evidence we are not seeing.

      The coin appears to have taken a beating. The word TRUST may have been victim to that post mint style damage more than any other portion of the coin.

      Add in that;
      http://varietyvista.com does not have any listings for 1983 (only S mint):

      John Wexler's site does not list the 1983 year....

      Sure, this is a 1983, but one that appears to have a "D" mintmark?

      Here is a very good example of how TRUST and a DDO can look. Sure, it can be less extreme than this.
