CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    This is the result of a struck through grease error. Some machine grease got stuck in the recess of the 1 digit on the die, which didn't allow the coin to strike up properly in that area.

      Grateful Bob, the same can be seen in the letter I of and the T.
      I still take the opportunity to find out how I become a paid member. Cheers Sorry Bob, the doubt about the whitish corrosion that is noticeable on the front of the penny, that you could tell me...since I have the same situation in other pennies.

        That whitish corrosion is actually the zinc core of the coin. This is more visible on the reverse of the coin. where the plating has cracked away. As far as a light colored coating or haze on the front of the coin, that is environmental and can usually be cleaned off with acetone.
