  • 2005 Lincoln Penny no mint

Hey guys it's been a while but I found this 2005 penny while at work and I wanted some of you experts to take a look at it. The lettering seems odd and is different from other 2005's Obverse and reverse side. The top of the reverse side especially. Also it's very precise stamp deep sides and sharp. If these pics aren't good enough I can get some closer tonight. Thanks for all y'all taking the time to look over and share your knowledge with us.

The lettering can not be 'different' from other 2005 coins. Because of die or circulation wear, all of those devices may seem different (thicker, mushier, sharper, etc.) This is a strong strike, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary on your coin.

Standard coin, compliments of the US Mint, where billions upon billion of these are made. They are Hubbed or impressed (created) with the same master hub to make working dies, so there's a very low probability anything weird goes on there.then

The only way to tell if it is a one off coin would be the weight ....

Here is the possibility of an already documented variety on this type coin year, for double die obverses:

      Double die reverses:

Just because a coin looks a little different does not qualify it for an error or variety.
