CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Can you believe that I got 7 bicentennials out of those 2 rolls!! They may not be worth much but they are to me cause that's what like is any coin Bicentennial....I almost passed out....lol....anyway...if anything maybe I got a smile out of y'all. You will find more bicentennial halves than any other year. The main reason is they were minted for 2 years. That's why you don't see any 1975 halves!

Thanks for the additional photo. It makes it very easy to identify it as a die chip. If the chip is early in its life, it could grow bigger with the repeated striking of this die. Therefore, it is possible that there is an even bigger chip out there.

And as Bob has mentioned in other threads, unless it is really dramatic, it probably will not bring any premium.

Ok cool I was just comparing to some others I have seen. Also I do have a couple more one I have has the "Drool" and the "Wort" on his nose. Here is a pic of that one...If you want me too I will delete this one and put in another post if that's possible.

In this case, you don't need to delete it unless you want to specifically talk about this coin. I think the point of this post is to identify the error, and we have done that. What it also does is show that the new quarters with Washington facing the opposite way have a weak spot and die cracks and chips are the first way we can see that. I am now curious to see how this weakness affects all of the coins using this design, or if it gets so bad that a redesign is warranted.

Thank you Bob! Yeah I was only using it as an example not to discuss this one. That being said I have 1 or 2 more like these but they all have their differences 1 being who is on the reverse Maya, Wilma and Dr. Sally. If I'm not mistaken all three of these I have at least 1 that is like this. As far as Anna and Nina I do not have their quarters yet. Oh and just fyi I have been doing my due diligence and reading about different DD and what causes them and the different Categories their are. Next time for rules sake I will make a separate post even if its still referring to a subject coin. Again thanks guys for all your input and knowledge..
