    Finned rim a error?

Is a finned rim considered a strike error due to improper pressure and planchet placement?
Are these the kinds of pictures that I was informed to take from the side showing level of squeeze out?

A fin is a thin flange that extends vertically from the rim/edge junction of a coin struck within the collar. It is caused by excessive striking pressure or a localized increase in striking pressure caused by slight die tilt. Fins can develop on either face or both faces simultaneously, encircle a coin or may be restricted to one pole.

In my opinion, Finned rims can be occasionally associated with a misaligned die. For a visual reference how much rim is affected, if you use a clock reference ? Example, from K2 to K6.....(2 o'clock to 6). We don't have a full photo at an angle to see it so it's tough to give an assessment.
