  • 1957 Lincoln possible strike thru?

I think o'l Abe may have a splitting headache and has seen better days. It looks like a halftrack or tank tread ran over his face.

Not sure about the tank tread looking items on his head, but it's definitely has a lot of die cracks on the head of Lincoln.

Are the tracks raised or are they sunk into Lincoln ?
Is there any sign of damage the reverse of the coin in the same general area?

It could be a lamination issue or, it could be a struck though as well. The last possibility is...

I think I remember something like this many years ago. I believe I was told it was some sort of damage associated with the movement of coins from one location to another, like the conveyor or chutes or something like that. This may have occurred in the route the coin took after it was struck and on its way to bagging. This coin looks uncirculated.
