CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hard to tell from the picture but it may be just some sort of environmental discoloration. It the area affected raised or incused?

It's incused and there's some bumps on the cheeck and an edge were the clad meets the coating along with rustish color from I guess air & CO2 exposure plus there's a missing flap by lower lip. Out of curiosity what environmental damage would cause this? It has some medium bagmarks and minor mint luster left. I can post additional photos if needed? I didn't think that it was warranted for this because it was confined to the main focal area on the obverse. I'm going to start posting obv/rev automatically, so that way it's like you have the coin in your hand.
