  • 1984D 25C tilted collar

This is a tilted collar I found in my change and there's an air bubble burst on the top of the R in LIBERTY. Is this within tolerance or did it slip out? I'm asking so that I have a baseline to go by in order to decide what stays and goes because this one seems on the fence with condition and issue.

any part of the reeds missing? tilted collars can result in a few variations of errors.

I agree with OCC, we either need to see the reeded edging or, explain what's happening with it. I do have a few partial collars, but they are slabbed from a client and on cosignment. I do not believe we will be able to see the reeding to show an example. This may require a search on the www to find an example.

In my opinion, I do not see any indication of a partial collar on the photos provided. Is the reverse showing some of the reeding on the rim ?

I hope this helps I wasn't sure if I should post edge shots, now I do. See how the reeding isn't all the way thru from top to bottom and it has a circular ridge is that from a tilted collar or a broadstruck because the collar wasn't holding it in place like it should?
