CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1969S Lincoln Cent

    Good evening all,

    I came across this 1969S cent last night and observed this doubling. As I am still fairly new at this, I am struggling with DD and MD and determining the proper identity. I am fairly confident it does not match the rare DDO, but didn’t know if this is 1) an actual DDO or MD and if it is DDO, is there any other varieties it could be?

    That looks like machine doubling (MD) in LIBERTY and date/MM you can see the shelf-like effect. Plus the 1969S doubled die the mintmark IS NOT DOUBLED just the date heavily in the 9's.
    Also the site recommends that you post one coin per thread because it gets confusing.
