In my opinion, its not on a dime planchet. the color is near copper more than clad. Clad dimes weigh closer to 2.2g. I cannot tell from the photos if this coin suffers from environmental damage.
It looks like you take photos of a screen with some type of camera. It causes pixelation issues when trying to zoom in. I have a post listed in my signature block which gives a step by step procedure on how to take decent phots with a cellphone.
What does the obverse of this coin look like ?
I am in the middle of a big project and it may take days to a week for me to reply. I do not have notifications turned on, so it might be luck of the draw whether I get back to this. Others might respond.Last edited by MintErrors; 10-20-2025, 01:42 PM.

Hello, Gary,
Hopefully, you can respond to this post. I took the photos with my camera, something I should have done in the first place. So, these pictures should be clearer.Attached Files- 1980 SMALL PENNY 5.jpg (75.9 KB, 14 views)
