  • 2000P Jefferson die clash

I thought I would share this coin with you all here. I posted this coin on another site and Mike already confirmed that it in fact a Die Clash, but still thought I would share it with you all. Right now I am waiting for the coin to be slabbed by PCGS and being the impatient type of person I am, it feels like it has been for ever since I sent it, even though it has only been there since 2/12/09 and they say it will take 25-30 days.

    Thanks
    Dave

The dies must have been abnormally soft to allow such penetration without shattering.

That is possibly the strongest die clash that I have ever seen. Very nice.

Ok recieved an email from PCGS today stating that my coin was done and was being shipped back to me.
I just tried to bring my account up, but seems that PCGS is having troubles with their web page right now. But I do remember they did give it a grade (did not bodybag it) AU58, but I don't see anything about it being a die clash under my account.
I am going to call them tomorrow to ask about it, but am wondering. Seeing as they graded it AU58, and yes sent it in as a error, does this mean they agreed it was an error with a grade of AU58????

          Thanks
          Dave

I assume you sent it in having designated it an error and having paid the extra $40 for the privilege of having Fred Weinberg attest to its authenticity and precise nature. If so, it should come back as a die clash graded AU-58.

Yes, I checked error on their selections, paid that lovely 50 dollars for an error selection, and also in the variety secton on the line put die clash as per the lovely lady at customer support I talked to.
