I wanted to know if the raised "dot" on the back of the coin and underneath the branches is due to a Rockwell test on the die? Can anyone explain to me how this got there? I believe this coin is from a really overused die because of the mushy looking devices on the coin which makes me think it could be due to die deterioration. I'm not sure though. Thanks for the help and answers! Here are pictures.
