CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

It's a nice coin, but you're positing in the Mint Error Forum. And I am uncertain why...

I like “moderns” and have a “sweet spot” for errors...this one was in range of “I heard of but never seen one”...thankfully you shared your opinion, “nice coin” that should satisfy “why”... I ll share another nice one D/S..

You need to keep it at one coin per thread please. You also did not address Jason's comment as to why you are posting this in the error forum, Your Buffalo (if it is a D/S) is a variety also...not an error.

What they are trying to say is, These coins you posted here are known as Varieties, they should be under the Varieties Forum. This is the Errors Forum, which usually contains things like Laminations, double, triple strikes, off-centers, double denominations, and the like.

The Varieties form usually has posts for Doubled Dies, Re-punched mintmarks, Repunched dates, Overdates, Over mintmarks and other noteworthy varieties. I hope the explanation helps.
