CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

It could be a die clash, but from the photos I am seeing I and not positive. I also cannot verify the die state.

“Bugs Bunny” errors are die clashes errors.

I am aware that a bugs bunny Franklin is a die clash. I currently run MadDieClashes.com. I just can't verify that's what you have from your photo. It looks possible, I am just not certain.

...I guess... you were expecting to see “upper leap” type...in this case, it’s a “vampire” type, grade C: barley visible from “right angle”...

It could very well be, but, throught the years I have collected, I find that going super high resolutions on the microscope will turn a lot of people off, since it takes so much to see it. People seem to be comfortable with picking up a 10x power loupe and in the right light and proper angle, being able to see the error/ clash or varieties.

The two above photos appear to show some machine doubling / mechanical doubling or strike doubling ( worthless doubling) just under the nose. It could be polishing lines as well, but in any event... That may have affected the outcome of this coin and the reason it did not show up as strong as it might have.

I resisted putting these Franklins on maddieclashes as there was, at a time, a Franklin site that had them all up. They are cool, but some of them are painfully minor. Maybe Stephen, who is assisting with the site, might be interested in adding some of them.
