...I guess... you were expecting to see “upper leap” type...in this case, it’s a “vampire” type, grade C: barley visible from “right angle”...

It could very well be, but, throught the years I have collected, I find that going super high resolutions on the microscope will turn a lot of people off, since it takes so much to see it. People seem to be comfortable with picking up a 10x power loupe and in the right light and proper angle, being able to see the error/ clash or varieties.
The two above photos appear to show some machine doubling / mechanical doubling or strike doubling ( worthless doubling) just under the nose. It could be polishing lines as well, but in any event... That may have affected the outcome of this coin and the reason it did not show up as strong as it might have.Gary Kozera

I resisted putting these Franklins on maddieclashes as there was, at a time, a Franklin site that had them all up. They are cool, but some of them are painfully minor. Maybe Stephen, who is assisting with the site, might be interested in adding some of them.Jason Cuvelier
