  • 1944 d Lincoln Cent with cud on the obverse!

This 1944 d Lincoln Cent has a fairly large cud on the obverse. I have been calling it a die chip error but I guess it could also be considered a die break. I found this searching through rolls of war time Penny's and thought it was pretty cool! KIMG0146.JPG

Thanks Coin Hunter! Appreciate your compliment. I got a little excited when I found I. Started jumping up and down!

You were more correct calling it a die chip or break. A cud encompasses part of the rim, and this coin does not. Either way, it is an interesting anomaly. Nice!

Oh good to know. For some reason I didn't know it wasn't considered a cud because of that reason. Now that you mention it I kinda remember learning this a couple of years ago. I tried to lean as much as possible in a short time . It should stick this time. Thank you!
