1886 Die break?

At first look... I thought damage as well... but the I looked at it under my loupe and started seeing what appears to be die cracks on the head itself, looked at the "horn" coming off the nose, and its all raised ... extra cladding by the rims wording and everything else... its my girlfriends sons coin that he got from his grandmother in a collectors book... I really don't know what to make of it... but it is all raised from the coinAttached Files

There are many things I see that make me believe it is still damage including what looks like pressed in gouging and some scraping on the face. Cracking of the die is definitely not out of the question as the dies were used extensively. The only thing I can recommend is that this coin is submitted to the error people on the forum and maybe they can have a look at it.Bob Piazza
