1960D FRANKLIN HALF STRUCK THROUGH AND SOMETHING?
I am looking at a 1960D Franklin Half. The coin appears to be struck through grease between the second 'T' and the 'E' in STATES on the reverse. Funny thing is there is a raised squared off ridge that can be seen in the middle of the struck through. It pierces the 'E' and emerges on the other side. I would understand if it was sunken in but it is actually raised up. Comments or thoughts?Tags: None

It certainly looks like a strikethrough. If it is grease, the consistency of that grease, and if there was anything mixed in with it (metal bits) could definitely affect what the strikethrough would look like. I think your opinion of what it is is correct, but what it was struck through is very hard to determine.Bob Piazza
