Thanks again Bob for always being ready to help and offer ways to dig a little deeper and learn something new.

Thank you very much for the link. The die numbers that Ken uses on his for sale page is the Variety Vista number.
After looking at that link, I can tell you for sure that your coin is NOT RPM-001. The look and mintmark position are incorrect for that variety.
I am not convinced that your coin is an RPM because of the glare with the photo. I am adding the link for all 1962D RPMS listed by VV. You may want to check these and see if you can narrow it down.

Thanks Bob. Here is the link I found the Ken Potter posting. On this link it has a link to go back to his home page.

You are correct in that the date has machine doubling. As far as whether or not it is an RPM, I just can't tell. You said you thought it might be RPM from Ken Potter's listing? Could you give me a link to that listing? I know of Variety Vista, Coppercoins, and Wexler's listings only.

This is my first posting.
Here are pictures of a 1962 D penny with what I believe is an RPM. I was looking at Ken Potter's listing and this looks like one of the three varieties he listed: RPM #1 D/D east.
The date looks like it may be machine doubling, right? I'm asking these questions to clarify these things for myself.
Thanks for looking.
