1954 D LWC Collar Break?

Not sure what this is but it does look mint made. The coin lies flat and weighs 3.13g.

It appears to be an uncentered broadstrike. Definitely a mint error. You can see a similar one here:

Thanks Bob, It does look like an uncentered broadstrike. I'm curious about the concentric lines starting in the hair and moving outwards. Any ideas on what those are?

Got caught in a counting machine and sharp object (like screwdriver) used to remove it from the machine?

I agree with it being damage as sumdunce's answer offered. That theory is as good as any.

I know this is an Australian Penny but it does have a similar look. Known as a ramstrike error. I’m not sure how that would translate in US terminology.

I believe this Australian coin has a 'Stiff Collar' error. I am not sure, so try to match it with items from this site:

Thanks HeartWith02, I have posted this coin in another forum, and while there is some support for this being error, the leading experts have weighed in and determined it is not a mint made error. I remain hopeful it is an unusual error though realize likely it is not. It is still photogenic and fun to look at anyways, thanks for looking.
