CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    50 cent piece?

    I have 4 50 cent pieces. With 4 different reverse where the eagle is holding the arrows. They all look a little different to me. Top left is uncirculated 1989 P. Top right proof 1983 S. Bottom left regular 1984 D and right is uncirculated 1989 D. Why they proof looks worn more that the others besides the 84

    These are all the same dies, although there could be subtle design differences over the years. The strength of the strike, along with circulation can also affect the way it looks. Something also to consider is that Proof coins were struck at least twice in order to impart a stronger image. if there was any movement between strikes, it could affect the way it looks. Ultimately, all of your coins are considered normal.
