1960 D DDO

What I have to be is a real genuine 1960 D DDO. I been to verities vista and mine one is doubling a lot more than what they show. Here’s my proof

Proof? Wrong. Not a proof coin and not proof of a doubled die. This is Machine Doubling along with some die deterioration and above ERT is die chips. Which I guess could be considered CUDs since they include the rim. Check Cud on Coins and see if there is a match to it.


Yep, JC has them listed as CUDs over there on CUDs on Coins. I didn’t check that close for a match. That can be on you to learn as you go. Maybe JC will pop in here to help.

I see what you are referring to. The class 8 doubling on the 6 of the date. I was focused on all the other photos you posted that showed die deterioration and the small cuds.

I still would say No, this is not a doubled die and I would go against that listing. You can look at 20 1960D nickels and more than half of them will have this same issue on the 6. Go look at PCGS pics. Almost all of them have the same “doubling”. I dont agree with that listing at all and it should probably be looked over again.

I actually agree with Jason on this one. I do not believe this to be a doubled die at all. To me it looks like die deterioration more so than any type of genuine doubled die. I will talk to the Lead attributer about having this one removed from the listings.

I when to PCGS and did not see any coin remotely close to the one shown. I want you to show me a picture of a coin that looks like the one I have. I think you are all blind. I have two others that have what looks like doubling but you can really tell on them that they are die deterioration.

It’s not about being clueless it stating facts and asking the people that say they know something not to show the proof of there finding and knowledge. I at least show something to try to back up what I believe

Here’s two pictures of a 1960 side by side and a picture of the PCGS and my coin together mine is the top right. Also you are all focused on the date. There’s other areas too. You all haven’t even seen there reverse side yet

Let's not play games here. Be specific and tell us what you see. and what you specifically want addressed. You should only post one coin per post. You should not post other people's or clubs photos (copyright issues). Remember that you have the coin in hand, and we do not, so you have the benefit of being able to turn the coin in the light. Your montage have several coins, some of which appear to have MD on them. Let's get this post under control.
