Heritage auctions has a free search service where you can see some rather interesting errors. The problem is, finding out the exact phrase they are using in order to produce good results.
Although this link below is not what I truly want to show, but it has many great examples of Brockage.
For the photos in that article you can click on the actual Brockage and it will take you to the Heritage auction listing where you can see the obverse and reverse of the coin.

Not all brockage show an image. Find all your errors here on Mike Diamonds website

Search for any errors. Can learn a lot from that site. He is the go to expert when it comes to error coins
As for your coin. I agree with Bob. Its damage, probably from wire cutters

Mike used to be real active on here.
I agree not all do show images.
I have an obverse counter brockage that you have to look at after consuming some adult beverages to see the muddy design features of an obverse with the light details of a reverse over the top of it.
My intent for that post was to keep it simple.Gary Kozera
