1969 S Lincoln cent
The obverse of this coin has a small spherical indentation that i thought was odd. I tried to research some info and read about the rockwell hardness test. I also saw quite a few posts about bb's and post mint damage. The reverse doesn't show any bulging opposite of the indentation. I was wondering could it possibly be a rockwell test?

Another person posted a similar question about an similar item. It should not be a hardness test, it's in the wrong area. have a look at this post:

It is difficult to know what actually caused it, or where it occurred on this coin.
It IS in an area where a small BB type pellet could get lodged in there. Take a close look around that area to see if there is any friction scrape like lines.
For my BEST guess as what is might be related to? Since the back gives maybe a hint that it was adhered to something, and the front divot may have been from something to hold the coin in place, until the adhesive dried. Closely examine the rim area all the way around to see if there are other tell tale signs that may have been another area used to secure the cent on something.Last edited by MintErrors; 03-04-2022, 07:11 AM.Gary Kozera

I do not know what happened to it, but a possibility is that a moderator removed it.
I suggest starting a new post so people can comment on your coin, and it does not become a chaotic mess in here.Gary Kozera

I do see a photo of a Kennedy Half. I did not do anything to an upload. I don't know what happened to it but I do suggest you not infringe upon another's post by adding your own coin. That is the forums rules.Bob Piazza
