  • 1861 Indian head cent Possible Judd-274 Die trial ?

Hi again , I also have what I believe to be an 1861 Die trial coin, 323 Copper Plain Edge. Rarity-8. Judd-274 any insight would be much appreciated ! IMG22.png img11.png

You would not be able to tell if it is a Judd-274 based on just looking at it. Alloys from that era were not always properly mixed so it could be an off color copper/nickel or the rare pure copper. I would recommend sending it to a TPG that also can conduct an elemental analysis (call them prior to submission to confirm they can test).

    Nice looking coin.
