    1993 D LMC - broken planchet

Hi. I am very excited about this find since I believe it is a rare find. Crack goes all the way through the coin. I was reading articles by Mike Diamond on this error and based upon the article, I think it happened after the strike since the devices do not appear to be affected.

It looks like it very well could be a broken planchet. Really nice find!

Being that is is a zinc year, it's a tough decision indeed.
Encapsulation may make it last longer, cheapest way out is ANACS but return postage is steep.
Then, convince them to put your phrase on the label....broken planchet before strike, defective planchet, or whatever else may come up.

A Coinworld holder may suffice. They can be had pretty cheap at Amos Advantage, or even an Air Tite holder may suffice.

IF it were mine and I liked zinc cents, I would go the cheapest holder route.

Sure it's a neat piece, but I am not too sure it is super collectable. It is your coin, you are happy with it, and THAT is what counts. Just trying to be logical and realistic here.
