CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2020 Vermont Die deterioration or Doubling Reverse

    These pics are kind of hard to determine but I will try my best. The lighter is one set and darker is the other. Clearly observed in the "S". G is extremely pronounced as well but pictures were hard due to the inset lettering.

    Since these letters are incuse on the coin, they do not show 'doubling' as you might expect. The areas get kind of stretched out a bit during striking, and this is what you are seeing here. Technically, what you are seeing is die deterioration. Now you will notice it on more and more quarters with incuse lettering and other design elements.
