1960 LINCOLN PROOF STRUCK THROUGH HAIR OR FIBER?
Hello CONECA, I am looking at a nicely toned ruby red 1960 Lincoln Proof Penny (large date, BTW). Turn this beauty over and there appears to be a struck through of hairs or fibers. It starts at the rim above the second 'T' in 'STATES' then splits at the 'T' and one end meanders through and ends at the 'UR' in 'PLURIBUS' and the second split meanders through the 'E' in 'STATES' and through the top of the 'BUS in 'PLURIBUS' and under 'AMERI' and through the 'CA' in 'AMERICA' and ends. Looks like a case of "splitting hairs"...literally. Thoughts or comments?Tags: None
