CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    1935 Lincoln cent rpm

I found this one this morning in a roll with “pretty Pennies” written on it. Thoughts? IMG_2753.jpg IMG_2759.jpg IMG_2771.jpg IMG_2769.jpg IMG_2766.jpg

First of all, this is a variety, and not a mint error.
I dont know if they will move this post or not.

I don't see a match, or anything close on the two sites I send people to

Here is my opinion. The top serif looks post mint damage. IF this mintmark was an rpm the bottom serif, since it does not extend out as far as the top one could have been rotated but it is not. The horizontal bar is pretty much evenly spaced width-wise, front top to bottom. A tilted rpm tends to have either the top or bottom part of the vertical bar wider.

The extra material in the far left (west) of the vertical bar on the mint mark, is eithier extra metal on top of the mint mark, or that was the top base of the mintmark, and the other area of the mint mark was sheared off.

The serifs do not look like a classic rpm.
Let some other folks express their opinions.

Thank you. My education regarding errors and varieties continues.
I could find no other comparisons either and so I posted it here for further analysis help.
With that, I appreciate your input, and patience with my endeavors.
I honestly thought that a variety was a group sharing like errors and RPM the errors ID for mint marks.
Again, your opinion is much appreciated.

I agree with Gary. This does not look like an RPM. It looks like MD to me.
