So I'm gonna ask for help again. I notused this penny weighed up to 3.24g and the penny is to wiegh around 3.1g with a .1g tolerance. From what Google says. I am hoping someone can help me know if this is something or if I'm over looking at it again haha . Furthermore would be amazing if there was some kind of reference page for wieght errors. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. Sorry if it seems like a noob question but I am one.

In my opinion, it's only a little off.
That is only 0.13 grams off.
It might be a slightly thicker planchet.

There is a chart which is some where on this forum that lists all the coins manufactured with tolerances in grams and grains. It is accurate, but I think it was data from 1947 or so.

That means anything from the time of release of that chart to when the coin changed composition should still be valid.

Changing composition from say from copper cents to zinc would cause the chart to be out dated. It would suffice for most coins, one would think fromrelase through 1970s or so. Obviously, new designed coins won't be on there. BUT the US Mint and law set tolerances for future design of coins. I think Cornell.edu has some of the laws available online as to design specifics and weight.

I am not at my office pc, so I don't have access to my attribution folder where that chart should be. Should i find it and travel back here i will attach a copy

Ok I will go check and see what is says. Just a little hard for me to know yet because of the possibility of alloys from different countries as well and I do not have that tool at my disposal to test that kind of stuff. Plus there are tones of different options online. I would hate to miss represent any of my coins I find. Thank you for your help.

As a noob, We certainly understand your apprehension about certain things, and that's why we are here. It is important to also understand that there are billions of coins out there. Research when you can, but don't let it overwhelm you. We are here to help when we can as long as you attempt to help yourself too.
Coin weights can be tricky, but most all will fall within specs. Just because they may be out a bit, does not mean it is a major error as there are other factors in play besides some of the more exotic ones.

OK, here is a file that might make your attribution process a bit easier.

The other which is a 60+ report that I believe originated by Fred W, is a link to that US Minted foreign coins and planchets.
The file was too big to attach here here is the link:
