1989S LINCOLN PENNY PROOF????

in my opinion, the strike on that Lincoln cent was simply too hard and it broke through the copper layer and may be showing the zinc core below it. It's simply mechanical doubling and strike damage IMHO.
The color is throwing me off, so make sure it appears to be damage. It is lower, shelf-like and has the classic signs of a zinc cent damaged by a hard strike.Gary Kozera

Nice images. I agree with Gary about the zinc core showing through the copper plating.
Judging by the "tabs" blocking the rims @ C (CENT) & N (UNITED) this looks to be a slabbed coin.
If so, I believe the plastic is affecting the color of the zinc showing through, which is usually blu-ish or grey.
The name I've heard used for this is "split plating". Click this link to learn more. LINK
