CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1918 Die Crack?

    Good Morning! I will try not to spam too many coins all at once. I will spread them out over a couple of days. My daughter, my nieces and myself have bags of WHEATIES that we have spent the fall season, going through and these are the errors that we believe we have found. Again, I have been reading and watching videos. I know there are different types of die cracks, but I do not have them all put to memory. We found this 1918.

    Die cracks are pretty common on wheat cents. Your coin may also have a lamination peel under (of America). I just can't tell. Either way, they are common and not worth premiums unless they are severe.

      Bob~ Thank You. . Cool. Truly, not looking to make a buck, plan on keeping it. Just trying to learn about them and trying to learn the differences between PM damage and a true mint errors. ~Lea
