This coin was struck normally in the mint. Then, after it left the mint, people do strange things to coins. Many people don't understand the minting process, how dies are made and the striking process. The dent in that coin was post mint. The circulation wear is normal, but the rest is damage.
This could have easily been a vise job, where some one tried to either heat it up prior to the squeeze or it was under some very high pressure, smearing some of the details. It's nothing but a beat up coin.

geesh. Just because some one has two beat up coins doesn't mean they are errors. With the quality assurance so strict in the mint since 2002, these would not have escaped the mint. I gave you my opinion, I am not going to explain why somebody has two beat up coins and they look the same.
If you honestly believe they are errors you can send them into a third party grading service and spend close to or above 100 bucks for them to come back in body bags, listed as damage and upgradeable.Gary Kozera

So that was not me who left you that rude message, I simply asked a legitimate sincere question and that was, how do you explain 2 different coins with almost exact markings? That's all not any kind of attitude or rudeness in fact I said thank you after my question so I'm sorry you obviously were feeling some type of way with whatever it might be going on in your life. That's the problem with communication through text we can see body language or hear tones so however we may be feeling that day can guide us to miss interpret what someone is saying just based on our own feelings.
So anyways about the quarters you say they're so bad that they wouldn't get back QC Quality Control well how in the world does coins that are smashed flat and only half moon images get by ? So when I do get them graded and checked out are you willing to accept that you're wrong or that you gave false information I'm just asking no attitude no nothing ? We all make mistakes your not A.I so I understand but do you understand? Thank you so much for your time and service I know you're mostly volunteers and probably way overwhelmed with excited people trying to find something new so thank you Sincerely, Rhoades
Oh P.S here's a picture of three quarters close to the same selling on on eBay as of yesterday. Just sayin...

your coins look like they were in a war zone. there is literally nothing about them that says they have any value above 25c and to be honest, some stores may not even accept them they are so rough. someone could possible think they are not authentic.
sorry to say, there are a LOT of dummies on ebay listing absolutely stupid items for absolutely stupid prices. it is like an epidemic. sorry to be so blunt but there it is.
hope it help and happy hunting.coinfacts.com - conecaonline.info - board.conecaonline.org/forum/numismatic-site-links - briansvarietycoins.com - coppercoins.com - cuds-on-coins.com - doubleddie.com - error-ref.com - franklinlover.yolasite.com - ikegroup.info -lincolncentresource.com - maddieclashes.com - money.org - ngccoin.com/price-guide/world - ngccoin.com/census - ngccoin.com/resources/counterfeit-detection - nnp.wustl.edu - pcgs.com/pop - pcgs.com/coinfacts - pcgs.com/photograde - varietyvista.com - vamworld.com
