CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    New to forum

I am new and like collecting. I found a coin that looks like it was stamped on a planchet with damage. This coin was in my grandfathers collection. The window is on top of the damage or the damage would have damaged the window. I think he saved it because he saw something was not normal. When you really view it, the window on the foundry is fine but jarred a little after getting die pressed, so the damage was already
there before the window went in. Can you explain that? I think its a rare, missed, damaged planchet that was minted with the damaged planchet and is one of a kind.

Hello George, and welcome to the forum.
FYI - this page is to welcome you. Welcome. The question should be posted to the canadian error part of the forum. I'm not a error guy, I'm a varieties guy.
That could be a severe die gouge.

I think you will get more responses if you post your photo's to that part of the forum.
    And again. Welcome!
    Eric
