CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

New Member - Tony from Southern Metal

    Hey everybody!

I am a new member, and I've been coin collecting for the past six years. I used to coin-roll hunt with my father 50 years ago, and after he passed in 2019, I got back into the hobby with my oldest son. After a few months, we decided to create a YouTube channel on coin-roll hunting and coin collecting. I really enjoy finding varieties.

I look forward to reading everyone else's questions - and maybe I can contribute to the discussions!

    Thanks!

    Tony

    Welcome to the forum Tony,
Coin collecting is a fun hobby that can keep a young person interested for years to come.
Hopefully your son also sticks with the hobby.
    Thanks for joining!
    Eric

Thanks Eric! He still enjoys collecting coins - but he isn't interested in coin-roll hunting any longer as he has picked up a few other hobbies.

My kids gave up when they couldn't find stuff from roll hunting and searching change. I have BU's back through the 50's and alot of the 40'S from rolls so it kept them interested for a few years. Take him to the show(s) give him something for his collection if he finds you a nice variety- 2 sets of eye's better than 1 - worked for me a long while.
